Our First Chalk Paint© 101 class

It was a amazing first Chalk Paint Decorative Paint © class.
I wanted to show you every step of the way. But I got so carried away teaching I forgot to take any pictures. My daughter Madison helped with the class and she managed to (at the last minute) take at least one.
I could not have asked for a better group of women to hold a first class with. I think I enjoyed it as much as they did. The next class being held at the store is May 11 2013 1:00 to 4:00, I would love to see you all there!

Repurposed Lamp
I tried my hand at repurposing a lamp this week. I think it came out great what do you think? Harry painted a old brass lamp Graphite, it looked good but I thought maybe I could improve it so I painted it French Linen.
Then I added some additional thickened and blobbed French Linen paint.
That was a really fun part. Old White was next.
Then some Graphite and Aubusson Blue and a finished piece emerged.
I am pretty proud of it. You can stop by the store and take a closer look at it. Please let me know if you are interested on a class on repurposing a old lamp I could schedule one.

Annie Sloan Unfolded©

I cannot believe it has been two weeks since I have been home from Annie Sloan unfolded©.

The women in North Carolina have created a wonderful and inviting space to work and learn in.

It was a wonderful class taught by Barbra a very talented artist in her own right. We were given all sorts of hints on how to successfully teach and most importantly to help you with any problems that may creep up on you. But Barbra was not the only teacher on staff Deb was there to help us on the business end of Chalk Paint Decorative Paint© by Annie Sloan. Hard to believe, but yes there is also a business end to this most amazing paint. I must say we did have some mistakes that we hope are all worked out now. Deb was a great person to work with to get everything worked out.
She also painted this couch with Chalk Paint yes you can paint fabric! I cannot forget Molly, Barbara's very talented daughter, who helped us in every way.
She was also working on these fabulous color charts. I have one last shout out to Lisa Ricket. Many of you may not know but this wonderful women is responsible for bringing Annie Sloan Unfolded© to life. I am sorry I did not think to photograph each of these wonderful women, but I am thrilled to be working with each of them. Thanks to everyone!

Annie Sloan© Paint

It seams like it has been a very long journery for us, but the time is finally arriving. We have been using Annie Sloan's chalk paint Decorative paint for about a year and have fallen in love with it. Don't get me wrong we were wary about all it had to offer. No cleaning, sanding or priming? Let me tell you they are absolutely right on with there product. And the colors lets just say are heaven.
But now here is the amazing part, we have been invited into the Annie Sloan family and will be carrying the paints in the store next week. Yup next week. I am off to take the stocklisters class in North Carolina this week and I couldn't be more excited! When I get back we will be able to hold classes in the store. We are so excited to bring you all on our next journey in the store.
